Build story
I wanted to bring this GLH back to life. After sitting since 2006, the original owner was ready to let it go. I was able to buy it after another buyer fell through. The car was rough but complete and I really wanted to keep it completely original, since the engine was unmolested. But the carb ran poorly at times, the smog pump was squeaking pretty bad, the charcoal canister was leaking into the return line into the carb. So I decided to put on a new carb, delete most of the vacuum lines and clean the engine bay up. Some tasteful exterior mods, the side skirts, which came on later models, louvers which scream 80s retro non factory Omni GLH decal on the rear quarter panel, really give the car some personality. I love taking it around town and get tons of second glances and people staring, they don’t believe their eyes when they see it on the road. Its super rare and you just don’t see them. Its my pleasure to share it with everyone, people can appreciate it for what it is. It made me feel good being able to keep in touch with the original owner to show him how the car was coming along. The original owner, now a man in his late 60s, early 70s, couldn’t believe how much the car had come along.
