Build story

I scooped up this lemon for 350 bucks about 3 years ago as a daily fuel economy driver and promptly blew a head gasket a week later. I pulled the motor to rebuild it and while that was out I was curious about the 302 block I had sitting in the corner at the time. Upon inspection it fit like a pretty leather glove in the engine bay. Took about 2 months of working on every day after work in my works shop corner to get it running again. Stock 22re only weighed about 75 lbs less then the 302 and I make twice the power now. I also do autox during the summer so adjustable coilovers and sticky tires were a must
It’s my daily driver and I get around 18-22 mpg so everyday I fiddle on it and tune it. Paint and h1c cummins turbo are next. I caught this in a transition stage so she ugly and not super fast yet. I have a2 year automotive degree and built custom classic hotrods for 4 years and have had over 20 cars and trucks, all which were modified in some way or another. This is what we do, this is living
