Build story
For the passed 3 years, I have been restoring two beetles.
A 1967 in which I did everything save mount and balance the tires and buff the paint.....yes, everything. This was a partially stripped body with an engine full of termites.
I painted it with free paint in my back yard. I did it on a budget with lots of trips to the salvage yard....and just plain making things work.....there are 40 or so videos of this car on my channel. OK fixer
The 1969 got the same treatment the above car got, save the paint. I kept this one the original patina. Because this was a Nebraska car it had considerable rot in it. So a lot of patches were done.
It’s still is a work in progress, and I’m working on the interior as we speak. Every week or so I get another video out. As above there are 40 or so videos on this. Some of the highlights are as well as the above. Taking the speedometers apart to fix them, and electrical switches apart to fix them as well. I know you’re not going to believe this, but the aftermarket parts are terrible. I’d rather fix the original German ones. They’re much better. Check out my channel, and check out the videos. Both of the cars were absolute trash when I got them. I bought one for $700 and one for $600. I enjoyed them immensely.
