Engine swap, a carb better than the quadrapuke, duel exhaust, HEI distributor, shock delete (too lazy to replace them)

Build story

My grandpa bought that truck brand new back in 1972. It was a farm truck. My dad drove it too. It’s the same truck my dad took his drivers test in. Sadly my grandpa passed away before I was born so I never got to meet him, but I heard he was a great guy. It was parked in a field in the 90’s where it sat for 20ish years. I got it when I was in 8th grade. I didn’t know much about cars so I just learned as I went. My family helped me a lot, especially my Dad and my grandparents on my moms side of the family. After a while I got her running but the timing chain gear stripped because for some reason GM thought it would be a good idea To make it plastic. I pulled the engine out and was gonna work on it but My grandpa found a partially rebuilt engine for $500. My dad and I drove 9 hours one way to pick it up (it was by my grandpas house). Anyway I tossed the new engine in and ripped her around. She was my daily for a while. I liked driving it because I never knew if she would start or stop for that matter and it kept things interesting. The truck taught me a lot about cars and really exposed me to the hobby. I’m now a senior in high school and I have plans for cars in the future, and the truck too.
