HEI distributor, factree cold snack exhaust tips
Build story
Im Jake Im 14 years old. This is my 1976 Ford F-250 Camper Special. This truck was sitting in a backyard on my street buried in weeds and trees for 20 years. About a year and a half ago, the guy that owned it unfortunately passed away. His sons and daughter then started to clean up the property to sell. It was about a 5 minute walk from my house so I walked over there, I looked at it a little bit, and the late owners son said I could have it for $200. So I went home and talked to my dad about it, me and him went back the next day, and I bought it. I started looking at it and realized that it hadnt been touched or molested at all and it was all original. It turned over but didnt run so me and my dad put in a HEI distributor, and it ran. Even with the original Motorcraft 4 barrel carb all full of gunk and grime, the original big block 460 ran and even idled pretty well. We proceeded to rig up a fuel system, put fluid in the transmission, and drove the thing down the road. It ran well and it drove straight. I had to give it some onions of course, ya know ya got to when ya got a big block. Its not quite 100% roadworthy yet, it still needs some work, but its an old truck, what do ya expect? I have some parts that Im gonna install soon, such as long tube headers, Cyclone Purple Hornies, and a Holley 4 barrel carburetor. Im only 14, so it might not be a great daily driver since it has a 460. But Im gonna keep saving money and build it into a weekend hotrod, and take it to car shows and drag race it. Its even got the factree cold snack exhaust tips too.
But no matter what, the best feeling I have ever had was driving this truck down the road for the first time in 20 years, and seeing my work finally pay off. Im excited to keep building this truck and making it into something cool. The entry only lets me put one Youtube video but I have two, so heres the first start video:
