Build story
This is my 1981 Mazda rx-7 gsl that I bought in non running condition. I picked it up to learn about rotaries and to give myself a bit of a challenge. I have since sold the car to acquire another vehicle. I had this car running in under 24 hours after purchase and on the road one week later. The car needed some vacuum leaks fixed and a general tune up that included all the above mentioned mods. The ignition system was designed and built by myself using a msd 6al-2 ignition box ( with rev limiter and two step) and a coil system that I created myself based loosely off of some older competition rotary cars. I tuned this car to live at high rpm (rotaries love that) and it has never missed a beat or had issues with hot starting.
