New 14 inch tires and Pacer wheels that resemble trailer tires but are actually Factree for this make and model. We have also cobbled together some better front seats from salvage yard Aerostars and purchased some Rastafarian seat covers that add a nice touch.

Build story

My son and I bought “Martha” from a sweet lady named Martha in February 2020 in Safford, AZ. We paid $400 for this rust free Arizona gem that is a one of a kind. Most Aerostars have been sent to the crusher (rightfully so) but it has been a joy to revive this old girl and make her a daily driver for my teenage sons. The looks we get from folks as they pull up next to us at stoplights and around town are priceless. Everyone but my wife absolutely love Martha. If I keep dropping money on her I may end up living in this van!!!

Martha has been a little high maintenance though. We have replaced the alternator, shocks, rear brakes, belts and pulleys and have had the transmission rebuilt. Our $400 investment is now over $2000. That being said, she has cold AC (a must in southeastern Arizona) and now runs like a champ! Her 3.0 L V6 that once pumped out 145 HP now provides about 37 HP but it’s fine...

The best thing has been working on her with my boys. This vehicle has brought us a lot of joy and togetherness as we have endured the complications associated with COVID 19 and the subsequent shut down. We have had a great time making here a going to town ride. These are memories I will cherish as a father.

There can’t be a lot of 1990’s era minivans submitted in this contest. Even if our Martha doesn’t win, she’s best in show in our book. We rep the VGG decal on the back window and love the channel. We are going to continue to love this van and continue to remember times past when everyone was rolling a Ford Aerostar.

Thank you for your consideration.
