Build story
This Fairlane has been in my family since around 1979/80. My grandpa bought it as a parts car for his 1967 Fairlane GTA that he bought new. Long story short, the GTA rusted so bad it wasn’t structurally sound anymore- it had to be scrapped. The convertible was rough, especially for back then, so not wanting to put any money into it he just parked it. One thing led to another, and 40 years passed with it still parked in the house garage. When I was a kid, I used to play in it and pretend I was fixing it up. Now I am a 21 year old college student with just about zero mechanical knowledge and a lot of ambition. The progress has been slow to get the car out but it’s coming along. It runs, drives on jackstands and I am in the process of putting brakes and tires on it. Hopefully it’ll be out by May and turning heads and choking out the masses with its 46 1/2 exhaust leaks.
