A new soul

B230ft from a 1991 turbo wagon. Refreshed.

T5 trans from an old thunderbird, with Deeworks T5 adapter plate.

Yoshifab upright mounts

Rando intercooler

Junkyard Porsche 911 tips, backed up with a magnaflow muffler.

Stock LH2.4 EMS (Still starts at minus 35, handles 11lbs of boost just fine)
Dave Barton LH2.4 swap harness.

Suite of AEM instruments

Ammo can trans tunnel

Lesjöfors 30mm lowering springs

KYB Gas-a-just shocks (Usable af)

Various and sundry small aesthetic improvements.

Tried to stay as close to Volvo OEM as I could for replacement parts availability, and that has worked out well. Its given me a lot of trouble free miles. Comfortably and swiftly.

Build story

According to ancient and medieval science, aether... is the material that fills the region of the universe above the terrestrial sphere. The concept of aether was used in several theories to explain several natural phenomena....

I know I know, Yet Another Turbo Volvo. But wait. What do you do when you think 240s have all the aesthetic grace of a carton of eggs but still want a prancing moose? Try a 140. Scandinavian Sensuality is not an oxymoron.

I had just ended a relationship with a 500 Abarth, and was looking for something unique. This one popped up with a bum engine, in the possession of a kid who loved the car and wanted the lifestyle, but whose technical acumen and financial resources were limited. So I bought her and jockeyed her home in the dead of our legendary Canadian winter. She barely ran, barely stopped, the blower motor had literally melted down, electrical issues up the wazoo, on and on. Over the last few years, all of that has ceased to be a problem.

I'm basically the stereotype of a millennial introvert. Or at least I was. When this car hit the road, she became my conversational gateway. Everywhere you go, people want to talk. And I have grown accustomed to being talked to randomly. I love that she has rehabilitated my social skills in a gentle way, in exchange for giving her a new lease on life. We have a very good synergy. As an aside, She will be 50 this year. She may live to 80 now. And an extra 30 year lease on life is probably worth celebrating.

Would love to find the time to use the comfort and relative power to drive down the west coast. Highway 1 tip to tail. See the four elements while comfortably seated behind the wheel of the fifth...
