Build story

Im Jake Im 14 years old and this is my 1974 Ford F-250 that I saved from a demolition derby! I painfully watched this truck get destroyed at a trailer race demolition derby, but after the race was over I went down onto the track and talked to the guy about it, and he said I could have the truck for free. So me and my dad loaded it up on a trailer and hauled it home. Because of certain damage to the truck from the derby, it didnt run and drive anymore. The fuel pump was ripped apart, the radiator was blown up, and the clutch linkage was completely dislodged. So far Ive fixed 1 of 3, I replaced the fuel pump and got it to run again, and with the headers and Flowmasters, the thing sounded awesome. I still need to fix the radiator so itll run for longer, and fix the clutch linkage so I can drive it down the road.
Im going to be putting a new bed and new fenders on it since the current ones are 97.8472% bad. It currently has the original 360 FE and 4 speed manual transmission, but Id like to swap a 390 or maybe even a 428 into it, if I could get my hands on one. Id also like to put in a 5 speed manual transmission. Im going to keep it matte black with the ugly orange 16.5 on the side and im going to put stock steel wheels on it (painted orange of course lol) with stock chrome hubcaps. I also named it Gus since there is a Custom emblem on the bed but half of it was broken off leaving the first half, Cus. and the font is all squary and such so the Cus at a glance looks like Gus. The cat even digs the truck! Im excited to finish fixing up this truck and get it back out onto the road where it belongs.
