Build story
It is not driveable. Yet.
This build is my my parents driveway. I just want a reliable vehicle so I bought the truck for the engine with thoughts to someday put the engine in something else (a short bus?).
This truck needs an out of province inspection so everything basically needs work.
Cylinder six was telling some bad knock knock jokes. I did a full rebuild with rockauto internals. I got both eblock and head serviced. Cylinder 6 got sleeved, and bored to stock size, I’m not a 6 liter fan lol.
There wasn’t any work done with tbe crank or cam. All the bearing surfaces and the end play were within spec. I just hope the cam is okay I guess, haha.
Its a shitbox edition for sure.
The body is in bad shape but that just makes it easier to put it to work.
There are a lot of thing so still have to do to this rig.I have my Instagram dedicated to the build (cumminrail) so more updates will be there. It is still a few weeks away from getting the engine in (waiting on crank seal wear sleeve intallers and front hubs).
I do realise my build is nothing special but I am only 19 and I am a first year heavy duty apprentice at a fleet shop. This was my way of throwing myself further into the trade to learn!
