Scratch fabricated my own bed no jig just eye balled it out of salvaged metal to resemble a 30#039;s Model A just race like. Channeled narrow and light enough to manoeuvre manually at the beginning.
The floor was comprised of a metal floor to cover the fuel tank i had to cut a section out for the filler neck. The OEM muffler was chopped up to encase the filler neck to prevent rust the filler neck became part of the bed.

Ordered replacement corner light#039;s then i drilled tiny strategic hole#039;s so i could use decorative wire to stitch/ Bond, Weld. This scratch fabricated bracket for each left & right corner light housing to better brace the part.

Had to fabricate and puzzle scrap metal in-order to revive the driver#039;s side front floor section.
Then i had to make the replacement floor section that mount#039;s to the frame.
Followed by the left front cab corner then i had to meet code so i sealed in the inner lower A pillar section with steel.

Each inner fender originally was plastic so i fabricated the modified replacement#039;s out of metal.

The drivers seat was ordered threw JAGS it was on sale yet the shipping was a real bullet.
I had to sculpt/ fabricate my own seat mount i also had to measure it out for myself as it would be stationary.
Pass-angers side seat was built from the scrap chopped up bench seat it came out looking like a 30#039;s bomber seat with the comfort of that Ferrari had.

Left side of the cab was who care#039;s so i cleaned it up. Sealed any weight reduction with old licence plate#039;s.
The right side was snot i later found out so the wheel well on the right required more repair and welding fabrication trick#039;s then fathomable.
No matter how low the welder setting the body metal was so poor you would burn a hole threw it as if it was like tin foil.
So i ended up with 4 or 5 different layers and some gob style weld#039;s. The cold winter blaw then rusted my work out.
Once the weather was reasonable after detailing and dressing the welds over I cleaned the area then primed it after that i went over it with bed liner, Had to be 3 or 4 coats to mask it over.

All 6 cab mount#039;s were modified the old fashion way then i selected different grade hockey pucks.
After drilling the 1& hole threw the 4 cab mounts i found a piece of scrap tubing to add to the center of each hockey puck so they would be as good as OEM i also used all purpose grease as well.

Rear bumper was twisted scrap so i cut the ends off the rear bumper so i could fabricate a front bumper from scratch. It didn#039;t turn out all that terrible.
I then needed replacement parking light#039;s so i ordered up a pair of universal eagle eye#039;s to bolt into the front bumper. Turns out they were wired into the day time running light#039;s.
Also had to make mount#039;s for the front bumper to bolt to the side mount locations of the chassis.
Fabricated my own grill to resemble a 60#039;s tow wrecker
Fabricated the rear taillight#039;s housing#039;s out of tool box drawer#039;s then welded them into the bed were your tailgate would be.
Had to fill the 10’s of the bed#039;s over hang inn so i salvaged section#039;s out of a sierra tailgate the center was fabricated like an aqua dock out of the stock scrap leaf spring steal.
Was going to use strut#039;s for the rear suspension so i then used 2& thick steel to sculpt strut tower#039;s then my neighbor said wont work.
So now their just art statues that house the backup LED light bars
Another neighbor suggested over fender#039;s so i picked up this single antique sear#039;s riding lawnmower fender and a sheet of steel.
They came out as the rear over fenders with venting at the front of each like that of an old Mopar Dodge or Chrysler.
4L Toyota became a stick in the mud so out it cam i then found out the OEM engine wirine was a rat#039;s nest.
Now to add a V8 sbc the rad support panel in the front was chopped for easy removal and install . Ill have to do some fabrication work at the front of the truck yet to acure.

Inner and outer rocker#039;s are fabricated via bondo light tack welds and paint to blend it inn and together. Fell of the jack stand#039;s out the rear so now i have to fabricate the right side rocker once again.

Build story

I was working with what i had. Basically the truck was for sale as a part#039;s truck so my father and I went out to see it. Toyota is a renowned backed name bran vehicle they used to be I owned a Corolla with over 500,000kms and it was still running strong.

So the story started out that it was a loved truck by the first owner as the first owner maintained it. Second owner had a farm they used it lightly to get around. The neighbor down the road had their BBQ stolen. Story was next day it was returned inside was a pair of Ottawa senator ticket#039;s. So they never suspected anything so they went to the game once they returned their house was cleaned out nothing left.

So the folk#039;s i bought it off were selling their farm cause they were weary after hearing the story thus half the reason why the Toyota was up for sale.

So my father has a Focus her husband told us the truck was out back. Well it was more like a mile back. My father drove is Ford threw mud and up this rocky knowle. Just a mild rough hill to take a Focus up once we were at the top their was just a driven path threw the straw like grass. We finally found the truck it was a grey faded primer turned an off white 1 wheel was missing the price was $275 asis.

I seen potential my father said hell no it took some sure determination as it took 3 day#039;s to get it running. The owner#039;s were not all that happy after we showed them it will run yet then again the right rear wheel was off a Ford Torus. We got both for $10 just down the road yet we only needed 1 wheel for the truck. The night before i was reeming and drilling the rim that way it would be a 50/50 it will work that was in the living room of my father#039;s APT.
That rim turned into a bunch of kick#039;s and hammering with a type of mallet only since the rim was aluminum. By the 4th day we were legal mto had no clue nore was i going to say crap all.
The owner#039;s were jaw dropped and shocked that day my father drove it off the farm and onto the backroad after 10 year#039;s in the field. Their is no video of the even as we sure did some hairy Bow & Luke Duke $h^s. Once at the local gas bar we had everyone mystified and shocked.

Like no bed the filler neck was handing off the frame the rear bumper was ratchet strapped down to the frame. The Ford Torus rim only had 3 bolt#039;s holding it onto the right rear side of the axle only 1 OEM headlight no signals 3 dry rot old trailer tire#039;s.

We made it out to a scrap yard the guy was grumpy and just wondering what the hell are you doing get it out of my yard. It had no brake#039;s yet it was a standard the man gave us a head start so i drove it out of their taking a chance as both way#039;s were blind .

Even made it threw a small town called Verona no brake#039;s no signals no bed my father#039;s Ford in toe fallowing me. My father got fumigated from the exhaust coming threw the drivers floor so i was driving the heap.

We really lucked out that day and this was before Covid even got it upto 90 roaring right out just heading towards a small town called Sharbot lake.
That Torus rim was just boogieing as it was not the right rim, Sure was stanced with the Torus rim. All the sudden 1 big &Bang&, My father said something flew off no idea what though it made more noise being in the truck rather following with my father#039;s Focus. I out and ran back here it was the catalytic converter thrown to the ditch to hot to pick up so on the way back home i passed my neighbor#039;s and waved their expression was what the hell made it back safe though man was it loud.

Still have the truck every day it seem#039;s to morph or something is different on it it#039;s kinda like Christine and Mad max combined. As mentioned i had the Toyota 2.4L running a bunch of time#039;s then no more it would just turn over. So now i#039;m yet to add a sbc 5.7L as i grew up around them the body took 1 year 4 month#039;s to get back in repaired condition.

i could not just order re-manufactured body panels as it#039;s a Toyota so everything had to be fabricated even the bed was a challenge yet it suit#039;s the build. Just been a money pit it has I#039;ve not even been able to come up with a name yet sure should scare local motorist#039;s once finished had to even fabricate a 4 link to replace the leaf sprince#039;s as the left front bolt cold wended into the sleeve at the front on the left leaf at the front I cut it to remove the axle for the repair of the front main seal. Man i did more work then was needed.

-) I can#039;t seem to upload any video or images do to it tingeing out after 30000 seconds and do to my location as well as the poor wifi.
