7.3 IDI diesel and zf5 swapped in from an 89 f250 donor truck. Core support out of a bullnose 6.9 IDI truck. Dayton variable rate heavy duty coil springs (rides better than factree)
Build story
This bronco was my first car. I've had it for about 5 or 6 years now and tinkered on it a ton. The 4.9 inline 6 in it had a rod knock, and was gutless. I found the whole running driving 4wd 5spd IDI truck for $900, couldn't pass the deal up. The swap took about 3 weeks mostly waiting on parts. Surprisingly bolted in with little modification. Took the trans mount from the donor and it bolted up to my frame. I drilled 2 holes out of the 8 for the motor mounts in my frame, the rest bolted up. I drilled the holes for the slave (they were marked from ford!). Stock bronco tcase bolted right up to zf5 with same driveline length and everything. Not the prettiest but ive never seen another bullnose bronco with and IDI. Last picture is the day I bought it.
