Build story
This neighbor of my dads stored the truck in his barn for 10 or more years. I love the dentside fords. My first truck was a 76 Highboy so my dad knows that I love these trucks. One christmas morning I woke up to a text from my father saying basically merry christmas here it is yours. I rebuilt the carb with the help of the thunderhead 289 channel, i put marvel mystery oil in the engine and let it sit a day. Then i cranked it over blowing as much of that out as i could. Put in new plugs and a fuel filter in line with it. pulled the choke and she cranked right to life. I still need to really dial in the carb but for now it is really ok. Brakes need work but i am getting there and she is no longer sitting in a barn rotting away to nothing. My dream would be to restore it to a fully functioning truck that looks really good. I plan to rebuild the motor, do the brakes and replace what i can when i can afford to do so.
