Build story
I Bought the car while in high school: November 2017, my first car. It was not running and hadn’t been on the road since before the 21st century, it would be safe to say it needed work so when ever I had a spare moment I was in my high school auto class working on it. It needed everything, new brake pads, rotors, shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, rear shocks, brake lines, carb rebuild, front ball joints, an exhaust system, windshield, parking brake cables, front springs and many holes patched in the floor. When I bought the car it was mostly stock and I couldn’t have that, so some friends and I in my garage swapped the engine, transmission and differential from the 305 automatic with highway gears and an open differential to a 327 t5 with 3.73 gears and a limited slip, long story short that engine was junk so I decided to build my own engine. The 383 was born, a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money went into building that engine but it is well worth it, it makes 450 horse and 445 of torque (nothing crazy) but it is still an absolute riot to let er rip from stop light to stop light (without speeding of course)
It is and probably will forever be and ongoing project and something I’m very glad I had the Opportunity to take on.
