Build story
This is a 1983 Ford F250 351 4 speed. This all started a couple of years ago around my house I saw this really nice 1980-86 Ford F250 that an old guy had. When I always drove by it I always remarked on how straight a truck is for it’s age. Yes at the time I knew it needed paint but so what! Always meant to go up and ask the guy about but before I could. It was gone. So at that point I just moved on. Then a couple weeks later my dad caught up with his friend who has a lot of OBS Fords and seems to know where they all are. Asked him about this truck, then he started laughing. Dad said “why are you laughing?” He said. “Cause I bought it!! But he wanted to get rid of it because he had no use for it. So I bought it and that was my first truck. From then, I have gotten it painted, ( the reason the paint was bad was the orignal owner had next to a barn that caught fire then the insurance company totaled it even though the damage was just mainly paint. Then he sold it to the old guy.) given the interior a little TLC. Had a hood of another truck put on because it was the old one was buckled, put a new bumper on it and took the headgear of the plow off and put a new starter on. But beyond that, I have still got to do some other things, such as put a hand choke on it, and just a couple more little things on it. It is a really great truck to drive around in. It goes good, as I say about this truck, you won’t get anywhere fast but you will get there! For my first truck I definitely love it! I am really glad how it has turningout.
