Build story
In 2007 the car was purchased as a $500 beater and over a decade later it has been a force to be reckoned with as reliable oddball daily driver that just doesnt seem to want to quit.
The car was originally purchased for my older sister as her first car and a year later passed on to me as my first car, the Aspen and I have been together ever since. The first few years there wasnt any real astounding changes, the car was reliable and only really needed general maintenance and repairs, but as I grew to love the car more and more I envisioned what I really wanted this car to become. Even though the car is still nowhere close to being done and still considered a project car to me, I work on it as much as possible through 3/4 seasons here and still drive it 365 days a year. Yes even through the rain, snow and ice we have here in Michigan. Ive owned this car pretty much my entire adult life and I couldnt imagine driving anything else everyday, and I look forward to making the car better and better with time.
A little bit about the car:
My Aspen is a base model 4 door sedan, fully unloaded (lol) she has none of the fancy factory options. The original (and very tired) Slant six 904 was pulled In 2016 and replaced with a Slant/904 from a 73 Dodge Dart with 55k original miles. Many parts for this car are very hard to come by so there is several DIY and custom projects and repairs if you will, from the stair edging grille trim piece down to the custom car seat covers and the modified heating system. As an artist I am also a sucker for beautiful aesthetics, and you will find my own personal airbrush work on the car, hopefully one day (after the body work is finished) you will see more of it on a shiny new paint job. While I could go on and on about my car (which I think most of us could) I will leave the pictures to speak for themselves.
