Build story

I got this old gem from the back of the family farm back in 2020. it was the dump truck for the family dairy sense the 90s and eventually was parked in the late 90s because of it not wanting to work correctly and was given up on. as a kid who was born with gas and diesel in my blood (which comes from my dirt track racing grandma and engine swapping family) I always dreamed of hearing the engine purr down the road once more.

After years of waiting and eventually learning the fine arts of old starts and cold starts (and having the need to use the truck for my College course on Heavy duty Truck brake and chassis) I saved enough money to get a battery, a push switch and a can of brake clean and got the old girl to run back in march of 2020.

I still have the old gem after many months of having to keep her from being scraped by family members and with any luck, I will have her back on the road shining bright as she did back when she first rolled off the assembly line.

But who wants a clean looking work truck!!! let me tell of the Old girl that is named Dumpy

This old girl is still on the deadly but spicy looking widow maker rims, nothing like a little danger to make a ride in the rust bucket even more memorable. the fuel has only the best 8 month old fuel in its stock rusty tank (the rust adds horse power buy self oversizing the bores once it in the engine). I have been running only the cheapest diesel engine oil I could buy and an Napa hydraulic oil filter that was the closet to the OEM filter I could find in the filter room.
To help with stopping the 3 ton truck, the front brakes are capped off to increase pressure to the rear brakes (totally DOT approved). (P.S. I am in the process of getting them fixed, i am crazy but not that crazy, lol)
the transmission is the drag strip addition, she doesn't stay in first so just start in low second and hammer down.
the open cab design has only the finest A/C system in the market. it has the option for windows but those are for when you are in the deep snows of the Antarctic.

And to top it off it is powered buy non other the Hopes and Dreams and a worn out Ford FT-330 big block (or small block...) with a Eton Two speed rear axal that is done its share of mud hole burn outs.
