Build story

My dad had a 1972 Gran Torino sport when i was a kid and when I was about 10 he had to get rid of it and he regretted it the rest of his life. When I graduated high school I always wanted to build him another one. The price on them are so high I couldn’t afford it and he passed before I could. I still cant afford one but I find that the ranchero is a good compromise considering it has the same body style. I found this one sitting in a field with a tree laying across the top hence the primer on the top and door on passenger side. So i did what any car guy would do i dragged it out without second thought and begun repairs. The seat is recovered has a new cheap carb off evil bay and true duals with echo chambers with exhaust coming out infront of both rear tires. The 302 sounds amazing and runs like a top but the trans not so much. I did however was able to rip some burn outs before I lost all forward gears. It has 2 shifters one on the column and one in the floor guess that adds like 4.934% horse power and has some weight reduction on the rear quarters which is fine adds 2.84% less wind resistance adds arrow dynamics. I also tried my hand at uphaulstry i never tried it before so i covered the dash and working on door pannels. Thanks to shows like yalls im a proud graduate of YU (youtube university) and I have found that my 10 year old son loves working on it and learning whats what. Guy just has to pass down the knowledge and know how to yell at cars when they eat your 10mm sockets plus they make great light holders. with that I hope yall fellers like the ole ranchero as much as I do and thanks for the opportunity. i have a video i just don’t know how to add it
