Build story

This is my 1970 Cadillac, Bertha, that I got for my 15th birthday almost 2 years ago. My dad and I pulled her out of the junkyard and trailered it 400 miles home. I started turning wrenches right away and it was some work. To get the car running I had to rebuild the carb and replace the intake manifold gasket. I also had to install the driveshaft because it was towed to the junkyard so they took it out. On the first drive, I blew the power steering box apart and sprayed power steering fluid everywhere so I rebuilt the steering box and she was yard driving. This was also all within the first two weeks of my birthday and when I got the car, which is pretty good for a 15-year-old. Since then I put an electric fuel pump in to replace my shot mechanical pump and got all the accessories working on the car beside the AC, started making new seat leather to replace the old dry cracked leather that I got the car with, and started modernizing the car with parts from other Cadillac and just new parts. I recently got a 1975 Eldorado as a parts car which I pulled the engine out of. I am currently building the engine out of the Eldo with some performance parts to make a nice little 500 to drive around, I know, my wallet won’t like the gas station anymore. The engine in Bertha had developed a slight knock and I have no clue how to diagnose it which is one of the other reasons why I am building the engine out of the Eldo. But besides the engine knock, I have been using her as my main car for the past 2 months that I have had her registered and the knock is the only major problem that I haven't solved yet. This project wouldn't have happened if I hadn't grown up watching channels like Junkyard Digs, Junkyard Mook, Vice Grip Garage, Dylan McCool, and many more. My love for cars and this project wouldn't have happened without you guys so I also started my own YouTube channel named A work in progress. Long story short, some 15 year old got a 50-year-old Cadillac running and now loves driving it to school.
