We didn't install it, but a 351 Windsor from a 1971 Galaxie 500 is currently installed in the car. It has 1968 GT wheels. It really isn't a resto-mod.

Build story

My father bought this project car last august, and we have been slowly working on the little things. We do not have the space or the tools to pull and rebuild an engine. Some examples of the little things that we have done are the PCV valve, door handles, plugs and plug wires, and new vacuum lines. We have done one big project which was the front disc brake conversion kit, but we have ordered a new sway bar, intake, carb, water pump, thermostat, and radiator. Some things that we plan to do in the future are as follows: finding the correct speedometer gear, time the engine (the old water pump blocks the marks), rear disc brakes, and adding the GT fog lights.

The reason we bought the car was that my brother and I are in Boy Scouts, but because of Covid-19, we have not gotten to do much. So my dad found this car. Mustangs are my favorite, Corvettes are my dads, and my brother likes Aston Martins. We all thought that it would be a good Pandemic/father and sons bonding project, and it has been.

We have taken it to a couple of cars and coffee car meets (it is not a show car, not by any means). Something I find crazy is that, other than a 69 Mach 1 that showed up once, we have been the only classic mustang we have seen in our city. There are lots of old GM, Chrysler, and Ford trucks, but no classic Mustangs.

That is the short story of our 1967 Ford Mustang.
