Build story
The car was abandoned at an automotive repair shop, it initially only got my attention because of the steering wheel it had. It was a multi-colored wheel called a Momo Benetton that I wanted, after bugging the shop owner for a couple years I finally received a text one day that said "the cars in the back are going to the junkyard today, if you want the steering wheel you have to take the whole car".
As you can see when I picked up the car it was full of tires, those were my responsibility (maybe punishment?) to dispose of as well. The more I looked at the car the more it grew on me, I have owned about a dozen datsun 510's over the years but this one has earned its place as my favorite. Every part of this car has been modified, assembled, or built in my garage at home.
Weighing in at around 2,000lbs and making 300whp makes this car an absolute riot. I've also never seen a kid walk past it without pointing and smiling. Oh yeah, the windshield is from home depot and is shower door lexan...
