Build story
I’ve had this first year american classic for about 3 1/2 years now. She is a ’64 1/2 body with a ’66 i6 200ci and 3 speed manual. I had found her rotting away and covered in dust in a carport 3 1/2 years ago. I had thought about asking about it for a couple months, and I finally decided to ask about it in November of 2017. The original owner was the daughter of the woman who had it, and her daughter was stripping the Mustang to restore it completely. Sadly she had passed away in 2012 and the car sat ever since. So I asked if I could buy the car and continue her work. The next month I bought the Mustang for $800, and I’ve been trying to restore it since. I also named it after the owner, who’s name was Mandy. Currently she doesn’t run, but she has brakes and half of an electrical harness. It’s mostly just a shell now, I am still searching for some cheap parts, like a driver seat, and a new heater. If you’re wondering why there’s towels in one of the pictures, it’s because I put them in there to protect the floorboard from getting rusty or damaged more then they were. So hopefully I’ll have it running soon.
