Build story
This is my main workhorse for hauling cars and scrap. It started out as a steel delivery truck for a local company and I bought it 12 years ago. It had a 7.3 IDI non turbo diesel and a E40D auto trans. They worked fine but could not keep up to my hauling needs. A few years ago my friend John and i swapped in a 5.9 cummins and matching Getrag transmission into it. The driveshaft was lengthened and a clutch pedal was added. It was also upgraded to hydro boost brakes.
The cab was repaired and repainted. Everything else on the body was polished or painted. The frame was sandblasted and coated in kbs rust seal. A deck was installed and a custom hitch was put on.
I found an Ali Arc bumper on kijiji and put it on the front ( since the picture was taken). It does a great job of pushing deer out of the way
Soon after the engine swap and body restoration a lady backed her minivan into the drivers door and dented it.
The truck works and pulls hard. Is very dependable and my only regret is not swapping in the Cummins sooner.
