Build story
Purchased in 2019 in a hot pink camo scheme, it was in a rollover accident 27 hours after I bought it, destroyed the windshield frame, grille and front bumper.
We got it home and it managed to started and idle the next day!
Slowly restoring to its full and extremely spartan glory, this little truck will remind you what and how driving is all about. It is a simple and archaic driving experience, whilst being technology of yesteryear it still has a complex note, somethings that have been since removed from cars and most driving today
No power anything, the windshield wipers are manually operated. I do not have the optional top. The seat has only one solid position. Can also be crank started. The windshield can be laid flat making the seeting wheel the tallest point.
Safety? Never heard of it
Reliable? Better than my sisters 2010 civic
Brakes? Yea they are actually surprisingly strong for what I expected
I am going after a WW2 or Korean era jeep look, my great grandfather was a tanker in Korea and very fondly remembered the little jeeps scurrying around the battle field, and I would like to eventually get him into it for a ride one last time
Top speed-60 MPH (if yer lucky)
Horsepower-60, Strong American Draft horses
Torque-105lbs
Its suspension while comfortable for driving is very robust and in combination with the drivetrain, has the nuts to be able tow or haul way out of its class!
The Specs may not seem great but, this little beast never ceases to suprise or amaze!
And although it is over 70, it still, everyday no matter the weather, it is always bounding for another drive
Built for war, driving to peace, destined to become legendary
The 1948 Willys CJ2a, the grandfather who never gave up his youth
