Build story
Projected started when I rolled my 2002 duramax. Naturally I decided to do something neat with giant paper weight. Pulled a $1700 c10 out from behind a guys barn and starting cutting stuff up. I completely stripped the frame down, cut 26 inches out of it, and Chopped off all the ifs stuf because it was toast from the roll over. I used a wfo kit to install a 2008 super Duty front axle and fox coil overs, that donor truck was also in a rollover. I mounted the cab as low as possible on the frame with out having to cut up the cab structure, to keep it looking clean when done and not have a ton of frame showing. This led to having to do a channeled and raised bed floor, custom rear crossmember(made from a scrapped cultivator hitch), custom and relocated body mounts(used scrapped Macdon shipping brackets), and custom core support. Most of the custom sheat metal was made from the old box front or old farm equipment panels. Replaced cab corners and rockers on this ND &rust free& cab, shaved gas cap, shaved drip rail, and shaved the side markers on the wrong year box. Topped it off with a rain forest green metallic paint job, same color as the rolled 02. Adapted as much of the 02 wiring and features as I could. I utilized the steering column power seats, all of the lighting wiring, abs, push button 4x4, and power windows from the 02. Custom built the rear bumper to resemble a step bumper I liked but did not fit the pickup, believe it or not it is built from irrigation pipe and flat iron, braced with more farm equipment metal. This entire project has been done in my farm shop, in between busy seasons, by myself with some help from friends and my dad here and there.
