Build story
I bought this boat at the end of the season. The previous owner said it ran but wouldnt idle. He thought it was the choke. Being my first boat I didnt know what to look for but I was pretty sure I could get the engine to run.
The the previous owner had removed the carb and double gasketed it and had not tightened down the carb. After I fixed the massive intake leak it ran pretty good. Got a few hours on it before the end of the season.
The next spring I went to de-winterize it and my foot went through the floor. Spent most of the summer replacing the rotten floor, stringers and and waterlogged flotation foam. In Addition I fixed the a previous repair to the keel and a couple smaller leaks.
All that work and got 5 hours on the water before the engine failed. Stripped distributor gear. Now I am in the process of rebuilding the engine and adding a kicker. This boat will be my primary transportation for the summer.
