Build story

My late best friend Pete Scurti towed junk cars for a living. In 2002, he towed in this V6 wagon. I bought it, fixed the few problems, and the wagon was our family car. Cold AC was a bonus. After the wreck, it sat for about 8 months until Pete towed in an 85 Bonneville parts car. We put the 85 front clip on in one piece! I drove it to work until the V6 dropped a cylinder. Plans began to hot rod it. The rear and overdrive transmission were swapped before the engine, and the car stayed on the road. I picked up the complete 455 with the wagon! Finally, in May of 2009, I swapped in the big block Olds in time for Power Tour 2009, and then It became my daily driver year round, making the 60 mile round trip to work. By 2016, the body was flopping around on the frame, with rust and damage to the body mounts. The body had to be separated from the chassis so I could make repairs. See the pictures. Afterwards, along with the other modifications along the way, it finally became the 12 second car I knew it could be. The wagon is a 3 time Power Tour Long Hauler (2017-2019) and Drag Week 2019 survivor, in spite of a bad axle bearing. It has been a challenge at times, but also a great learning experience.
