Mods

-Full exhaust- Modified Hedman headers made for a Hilux, 17 in resonator and Borla muffler.

-Chastain Shadow Louvers, the dealer optioned version. I refinished them and am working on getting a replica decal.

-Dual row timing chain/cassette so it won't wear a hole thru the timing cover.

-Auto Louver fog lights, aka Lumenators. I believe them to be from the early 90s, with a silly light-up yellow flip switch on the center console that I wired up.

-(if you even count this as a mod haha) Hoshino Impul D-01 Silhouette 14x7 wheels, they've been refurbished.

I know its not really much of build yet performance-wise, but its slowly getting there when I find the spare cash.

Build story

Its not much, just a stock 22re, with the most important mod being the headers and exhaust- something that these engines really benefit from. Unlike many others, the 22re is enough for my liking as I dont care much for driving in straight lines (I have an old suzuki gsx550 for that). This car is mostly for taking corners, and simply engulfing in the general atmosphere it creates, both inside and out. Its very much a period-car. Driving this on a fun road down by the Puget sound, with the sun setting, and some 80s music playing creates a feeling like no other.

This is my daily driver and it does so very happily, albeit I dont work much right now due to some health issues. I bought the car the day before my 25th birthday back in July of 2019, out in Vancouver WA (Im from Tacoma). A couple weeks later I took my partner on our first date to the mountains, where it decided to start pissing coolant all over the general store parking lot in none other than Greenwater WA. We sealed it up with super glue, topped it off,  and made the sticky drive back home that evening. Thats their sev6 200sx in the background, as well as my roomates various cars.

Got the louvers from some 17yr old kids mom in Oregon, since he flaked out after I drove down there. They were missing the mounting hardware and pretty tattered, but I  Jerry-rigged them up and refinished them to the best of my ability.

Also its the cover car, so why the hell not? ;)

I love this thing, and I cant imagine my life without it.
