The previous owner swapped the car with a 350 SBC and did a custom exhaust back in the late 90s.
Build story
I bought the car back in late may of 2020. I wanted to get into car culture so I found this on facebook marketplace because I had really come to liking 3rd Gen Firebirds. I paid $850 for the car and I have put so many hours over the course of 10 months into rebuilding the entire suspension, brakes, carburetor and many other basic parts to make this car a solid driver again. This car sat for 24 years since 1997 and I got it back on the road just today (3/26/21). For 18 of those years the car sat in a garage but then it was rolled out for 4 more years where it sat under a pine tree in a field. I knew nothing about cars before this project but almost a after year buying it, this bird has taken flight again and I have learned so much. The interior is completely stock and it is in amazing condition overall. The original tape deck and radio works. I have gone through and replaced the alternator, brake booster, master cylinder, mechanical fuel pump etc. In these last few days I have pushed myself to get this car on the road for this competition so I could share it with the world.
