Build story
Bought the truck Thanksgiving day, 2019. Was listed for parts, and claimed to have 45k miles. The the truck was sitting in a field for at least 10 years. I went to look at it and told myself, &if I can drive it on the trailer, I#039;m buying it. After about an hour, we kinda got it running. It seemed as though it was running on only a few cylinders but after making a deal on some tires that had air and a bit of luck, I drove it on the trailer. Got it back to the shop and figured 6 of the 8 fuel injectors were not firing. I ordered a set of fuel injectors and got it running good. The first attempt of driving it, I realized the transmission was in pretty bad shape, it would go into gear but it was slipping a lot. I bought another truck for parts that the guy claimed to have 25k on a rebuilt trans. Put the trans in Lilith and got her going. Second test drive I found a bad brake caliper which almost caught the truck on fire (had some grass still around the axle). When I inspected the brakes I realized that all the u-joints were bad and the gear ratio didn#039;t even match the tag on the truck. At this point, I think the guy I bought it from swapped out the axles and put them on his truck. So I took the axles out of the parts truck and put them in. Now finally, after some good fluids and a bath she was ready for the road.
