Build story

I've had these 1984 Dragway 5 spokes since the early 90's, they were for a while on our first car, a 1975 LX Torana. Sadly that car met the rear end of a Calais many moons ago and is gone. However, these wheels have travelled with us from house to house since then and so we recently decided to find something to fit them too. With the recent demise of Holden even a paddock wreck is worth good money but we did find this 1966 Franklin Freeway for $800 AUS and in it's condition it was worth at least half that!

Fast forward through a new timber frame and dark acrylic windows, a spare tyre mount was needed. They can be bought, of course, for around $30 and fitted in a matter of minutes and so the choice was obvious, to spend the best part of 3 days building a bracket!

(I know, not a car, but there are plans for an electric jockey wheel...? and it's just good to see these wheels rollin' again)

Enjoy!
