It self identifies as a Truck.
Often paired with a 12k lb trailer so I can take up half a block worth of parking, need to upgrade to a 14k though, my backhoe is a bit over the capacity of the 12k.
Kids love climbing on the truck and helping daddy work on it
Putting in new injectors, glow plugs, and converted it to manual fuel injection.
Hauls nicely.
Added on tie-down loops to help secure loads to this massive flatbed, bad part is the bed is 50" off the ground so it's a climb to get into.
Deck is really great for loads though, plenty of room, really rough so I don't care about it and with the tiedowns I can really secure whatever I have on there.

Mods

Conversion from Electronic fuel injection to Manual fuel injection
Conversion from Vacuum controlled wastegate to manual/spring controlled

Build story

This is my beast/work truck, mostly use it to haul my toys.

The Electronic fuel injection was going bad, along with the throttle position sensor and a bunch of the wiring. Prices on rebuilt electronics are $1600 range, and with other parts and pieces I was looking at $2k to $3k. In addition the electronic fuel injection pump was first gen and had plenty of weaknesses and issues (advice was always carry a spare PMD in the glove compartment cuz it'll go bad even after relocation). The rebuilt manual pump was far less ($700) and bolted right in, with the additional parts and pieces for the conversion, and the core, I'm only at $1400.

The rest of the work I'm planning on doing to the truck for now is mostly get it running nice and everything reliable, I picked it up cheep knowing it needed the work.

Eventually I'd like to put a crew-cab on it and lower the deck so it's easier to get stuff into it, but for now the overall shape of it will stay... beastly...
