VW 1.9L ALH TURBO DIESEL MOUNTED MID ENGINE. 5 SPEED IN A 1969 BUG. MOTOR IN MOSTLY STOCK RIGHT NOW FULLY CONVERTED TO ALL MECHANICAL FUEL INJECTION PUMP. ARP HEAD STUDS. 11mm PUMP. .216 INJECTORS. CUSTOM AXLES. WORKING ON BIGGER TURBO SET UP AND COOLER. STILL WORKING ON IT BUT RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. HEAVILY CHOPPED. MODIFIED CHASSIS TO ACCEPT THE ALH TDI. CHASSIS IS 11” LONGER. MANY LITTLE CUSTOM THINGS TO MAKE EVERYTHING WORK. SO FAR SO GOOD.
Build story
It was the first bug I ever bought back in 2010 I think. Drove it daily for about a year then made it into a volksrod with a 1776 motor and was nice then. I ended up trading it for a really nice 1st generation Cummins 4x4. The guy I traded it to tried to make a Baja out of it and just ruined it really. So I bought it back and completely stripped it and stared on what it is today with to me is still mock up and testing phase. I am super happy with it and planning the next evolution that might surprise some people so TO BE CONTINUED
