So far, the Crown Vic is completely stock but someday we hope to Supercharge it or Coyote swap it. Maybe even change it to a manual trans.
Build story
My sons and I are body swapping and doing a 7” body drop of a ‘79 F-150 onto an ‘03 Crown Vic Police Interceptor. We’re at about the 1/2 way point and have it assembled enough to film a “Christmas Burnouts” episode. The next steps will be to bend up pipe for a roll bar/ cage and begin shortening the bed. It was important to us to retain the truck’s steel dash so that will be re-installed as the interior comes together. Lots more welding and sheet metal work to be done! (I’m no body man lol)
The goal for our project is to road-trip it to the Mid American Trucking Show in Louisville, KY March 30-April 1 ‘23.
It will be my daily driver and also appear at shows & events like (hopefully) Hot Rod Power Tour, CarCraft Nationals in St.Paul, MN & Cleetus & Cars burnout competition.
For future modifications, we hope to supercharge the engine, possibly swap the 2v 4.6L for a 4v. Or maybe even Coyote swap it and switch to a manual transmission. (If we can stretch the budget) So far the entire project has cost us $2000 usd.
