Saw the Opel standing by the side of the road whilst i was working driving truck. Knocked on the door on an impulsive tought and ended up with the truck on the bed on my way home.
Everything is seased so had to secure the truck with a chain on something heavy and pull away the truckbed realising ivé picked up much work for myself on my way home from work?
Old straight 6 similar to an stovebolt 6
Lifted the truck up on stands and unseased the wheelbearings etc. to easyer get it in the garage.
Started to take the truck apart
Pistons seased in the cylinders.
Really dirty inside
The cab is on hold as the chassie and engine is prio 1, threw in a floor pan and support inside to have some stiffnes in the body dreaming of an California truck..
Eaten up sump and engine in need of an major overhaul.
Cleaned up the block only to discover a crack in the side of the block and the tought of a crate V8 engine is on my mind more and more?

Mods

Some sort of V8 engine is going in, maybe Ls1

Build story

Long time project for me as an dad of 2 small kids as time is not on my side.
Chassie upgrades to something newer and a frame modification.
Ofcourse keeping the patina on the body with a clearcoate ontop.
The bed is non existing so have to make something new.
