Rich said it best when he said “this is what we had available;” when he was building his F350. What you are seeing is a running, driving, street legal 1986 Mazda B2000 with the entire running gear and complete wiring from a 2007 Dodge Ram 5.7L HEMI! When I say entire wiring harness’s I mean dash harness, tail lights to headlights, which were merged to the Mazda’s accessories. Everything in this truck was used parts or made/modified by me. There is a modest comp cam installed with push rods and valve springs, tuned, etc.
Everything but the speedo works (lights, wipers, blower motor, HVAC etc). I am able to get a signal for the speedo but not consistent enough because the tone wheel in this rear end the teeth are too wide and too closely spaced to the best of my knowledge.
Fun little truck to drive but with a cam, 3.73 gears, and a 26” tall tire it gets horrendous fuel mileage. Averages 12-13 MPG at 60mph with zero spirited driving.
