Rebuilt transmission with upgraded torque converter and other beefed up internals. Transfer case swap from a full time np249 to a np231 with slip yolk eliminator. 6 inch lift kit on 33 inch tires. 4.10 gears front and rear with a lock-right locker in the rear custom built Dana 44. Rough Country front winch mount with 12,000lb Badland winch.
Build story
I bought this 98 5.9 Limited Grand Cherokee in 2016 after my previous 97 Grand Cherokee Limited had been ravaged by salt induced cancer from living in the Lake Erie snow belt of northeast Ohio and 255,000 miles. The 98 had been wrecked by a previous owner so I used the 97 as a donor vehicle to fix up the 98. I had a 3 inch lift on the 97 that also got swapped to the 98 and this past summer of 2023 I decided to increase the lift to 6 inches.
