Build story

I bought the car in 1981 when I was 15, for $500. It was originally a 289 auto with four wheel drum brakes. Rusty and beat-up. My sisters boyfriend (later husband) helped me do bodywork and paint it in my dads garage. I drove it in high school and it was my daily driver for almost 10 years. In 1990 I decided to redo the car with more than a teenager budget. I put a stock 460 and C6 auto from a 73 T-Bird, Lincoln Versailes 9" rear and Grenada spindles/disc brakes. I replaced the floor pans, quarter panels and other previously patched up body with all new metal. The car remained in primer/multicolored for years. In 99 I swapped the 460 for a 70 429 (Mild rebuild) and drove it that way for years. I had started the Shelby inspired body mods in the 90's but after the remake of Gone in 60 seconds I started adding the Eleanor mods. In 2005 or 06 My wife redid the interior which was really rough by then. In 2007 we finally got it painted. I took it all apart and hauled the shell to the shop to get painted and then brought it home to put it back together. It has been on the HRPT five times, drag raced at Beech bend, done a couple track day events at Nashville Speedway and been driven in 18 states so far.
