Build story
The financially irresponsible rotissory restoration foxbody that was rittled with cancer and destined for the wreckers. I obtained it with no mechanical background or foxbody knowledge.
The restoration took place in my parents unheated garage over the course of 5 years on a rotissory that I built Out of 5/8 Plywood and 2x6s. Most of the work was done over winter using a propane heater and a carbon monoxiced detector that was unknowingly plugged into a NON working outlet for Most of The project.
It started out by changing the floors and drilling 147 spot welds in order to replace the roof skin from a donar car. From there it quickly snowballed into a complete project sanding down every single obtainable square inch to bare metal and epoxied/seam sealing evetyrhing
Every screw, bolt And nut was turned. Every WIre was gone over, Wire tucked engine harness, engine bay shaved and smoothed, fully rebuilt the engine. The list goes on and on. Countless and endless hours of driving to get parts, welding, gridning and breathing in fumes that Im sure I'll have to pay for later on in life.
I finished the car in 2020, since than I drove it a total Of 1100 kms. I belive I enjoyed the process of building it more than I enjoy driving it.
The licence plate reads UDUNEVNO (you don't even know), because your first impression is a perfect prestige looking paint job on a mostly normal looking foxbody, but what you're really looking at is a car that had zero business looking that good in the first place.
You could say I saved the car, but after compleation I came to realize that the car is what saved me.
