Making 1 outta 2.
Last cut to hit that magic 127" wheelbase.
"No sir, this frame hasn't been welded on..."
Plotting out transmission mounting bolt, and dowel locations.
Plotting out the Deutz side of my adaptor.

Mods

1967 C30 cab.
2008 F350 chassis.
2006 ZF-6 out of a Ford V10
Deutz BF6L913 tractor engine.

Build story

Basically a ground up custom build....there won't really be anything original besides the cab.
This project was born from the way diesel truck prices skyrocketed during the coof.

I chose to use a ford chassis because they famous in the oilsands for being virtually indestructible. They are plentiful, and cheap. Because while they are solid, the motors would always go long before the truck was ready to retire.

Speaking of motors!
Always loved the air cooled Deutz engines, and thought it would make an awesome powerplant for a truck! Easy to work on, easy to rebuild, even in-frame.
Aiming for between 250-300hp, which should be easy...Even with the bosch A-pump.

I chose a chevy cab because I wanted a vin that would absolutely pre-date any emissions regulations, and these classic Chevies are really easy on the eyes. Nicest looking trucks of the era IMO.

Not aiming for show quality....this truck will be my daily/camping/hunting/towing rig.
