Build story
Took about 8 months beginning to end. Started as a 350 sbc with a 4spd manual. Ripped motor and trans out and started reinforcing front of frame with a homemade crossmember. The aftermarket one you can buy online for the swap wasn't exactly what we wanted so we made our own. Rebuilt entire motor with new bearings, rings, and gaskets. We bought the motor in pieces. Our injection pump was seized from the previous owner from sitting for months with no fuel or oil in it. After we found this out we did something that no normal person would because injection pumps are “fragile.” Fragile being very meticulous and delicate and everything has to function or its kaput. We threw all that caution to the wind and took out delivery valve holders and valves to see what was seized. The plungers in the p pump were completely set up so we dumped fuel down the hole and beat them free with a brass punch. LOL…. its a miracle the damn thing works at all and as well as it does. I do think the governor is a little messed up in the pump but it runs really well. I am at about 350 hp and 800 ftlbs if i had to guess. She will spin the tires in 5th gear when the roads are wet. I hope to do another one soon but a 24v with a full mechanical conversion using a ve pump. I really want a single wheel tires are exspensive lol. I want the smoothness of a ve pump even though its harder to get a lot of fuel compared to the p pump and the more power holding capacity of a 24v with that all mechanical reliability.
