Build story
Always liked the patrols for their looks, toughness and capability but I never liked any of the standard motor options so I bought a fg turbo motor and 6 spd auto found myself a patrol and married the 2
The build turned into more of a resto mod when I took the cab off cleaned up and resprayed the chassis braced the chassis upgraded to gu diffs brakes and steering box replaced every rubber mount and seal in the suspension and cab down to the door switch rubber covers
I then chopped the cab from a wagon to a dual cab and built a tray and canopy setup with a full 12v system to go touring/camping with
Upgraded the interior whilst trying not to modernise it too much with modern seats from an fg falcon vdo guages in the dash custom door cards and centre console even added a cab filter from an astra as patrols never had any kind of cab filter
All in all im stoked with how it's turned out it drives like a new car with all the creature comforts like air con working heater cruise control electric windows and central locking with none of the annoying "safety features" and buzzers all new cars have and has more than enough power for an old bikkie tin
