My friends and I bought this car to race the 24 Hours of Lemons. At the time it was bone stock outside of the cage and gut. We raced it hard from 2013 until 2016 when the radiator clogged and the engine went thermonuclear. The engine still ran but it was hurt. I limped it around a few years going to Cars and Coffee type events. In 2020 I started the process of the engine swap. I picked the 2005 Passat as a donor because TDI swaps are very well documented and there exists tons of aftermarket support. I've upgrade from the stock 110bhp to 170bhp and dropped ~300lbs off the nose of the car. I picked the Nissan transmission after racing a friend's Jaguar XJ6 with the same transmission swapped in. After I get the swap sorted I plan to be back on track!
