Build story
This 1945 Willys MB was originally purchased by my grandfather some time in the 70s. It lived on our property in California, getting driven around in the river beds and fields. Just generally getting beat up. It sat in the barn from the 90s until I pulled it out in 2013. It was pretty much all original with the addition of a ton of rust. I sold off all the original mechanical parts. Built a modified frame with the new drive train and suspension. The only thing saved of the body was the outside skin and firewall. The actual structure, floors, and interior pieces all had to be rebuilt because of rust and just fitting on the new chassis. Axles are narrow D44s from a jeep wagonner, both diffs are offset to the passenger side, transfer case is gears and outputs from a Dana 18 stuffed into the case of a Dana 20. That is adapted onto the back of a SM465 manual. All driven by a Vortec 4.3L V8 converted to carb cooled by a radiator from a ford mustang. Firewall modifications were required to adapt a Jeep XJ pedal box so I could have hanging pedals rather than ones that went through the floor. Those are pressing on Wilwood brake and clutch masters.
