Build story
It all started when my uncle bought the old ranch truck for my grandfather who was a body man his whole life. Sadly he never got to see it as he passed from cancer be the truck landed home. I was 17(23 now) when I bought the truck from my uncle and never really had enough money to do anything with it for years but was gathering parts up along the way for it. The story I got it was parked in 69 or 70 after the head gaskets went in the old 8BA flat head, so I knew it had to go, really wanted a 4bt for it but in this part of the country they are very hard to find. So I drove 8 hours to get the next best thing the 4d55t 4 cylinder diesel out of a 85 Ford ranger. Also got the 5 speed manual transmission with it. Everyone does 12 valve swaps so I wanted to do something a little different. It took about a month to do the swap and about 2 more months to get the trucks breaks and suspension up to par as it was and still is all factory. It was my first real swap so it's not perfect but its reliable,fun and safe. Makes a bunch of noise and smoke but doesn't get anywhere in a hurry, but I love it, and of course the old ve Bosch pump got turned up.Last summer I put a out 2000 km on it and plan on more this year, even did a few side jobs out of it when my daily truck was down for the count. U get some looks in traffic when u have a 28 foot extension ladder on the back of a old rusted up truck lol.
