Build story

I got medically discharged from the military and wanted to purchase something that would put a financial and emotional dent on my family and friends. So I purchased the F250 from Oregon and had it delivered to Virginia. It use to be a old Christmas tree farm truck. The truck had a 360FE in it that leaked horse power from every hose and seal. So as any good vehicle owner would do after noticing that, I bought hooker headers to throw in it. After recruiting some friends to help me, we proceeded to break manifold bolt after bolt. So we decided to stop trying to pull the proverbial swords from stone and yanked the engine out to drill out the bolts and do the seals. After a complete break down of the engine and noticing some burnt valves and a list of other problems. I decided it was time to do the most reasonable thing, and that was purchasing a built 390FE and throwing it in. I contacted a local reputable Ford FE guy off of craigslist and proceeded to toss money at him and talk about what I was looking for in a engine. After picking it up and bring it back my friends and I proceeded to paint, clean and install the new 390 on top of clean the 51 years of oil and gunk off the transmission and inside the engine bay. The interior is pretty stock besides the bench seat that was reupholster but the passenger side of the bench that adjusts doesn't latch all the way so you get to really feel the pucker effect when that side of the bench moves back and forth, it has a heavily tarnished 7mm rifle casing as the shift knob and a 5.56 bullet as the indicator arrow to tell me what gear it's in. Radio doesn't work so there is that. The exterior is unique, the paint is a 500$ copy of the original paint. You can tell the craftsmanship and dedication the painter had by the over spray on my windows or the painters tape sprayed over and left on it or the dried paint drippings that run down the fender like eyeliner on the cheek of a sobbing Kardashian. The tailgate has a dent that makes it so it doesn't stay lined up on the brackets and loves to lean to one side. Nothing says OEM windshield like a crack and a chip on it but it matches the seals that I refuse to except are dried and deteriorating like a mummy's d!*k. All in all its comes down to being perpetual work in progress, still has some kinks to work out like getting an accurate reading on temp and a few other things. The truck really has it's own personality and problems just like its owner, but i will always use it as a truck so it will never be show quality. On top of all that i wouldn't of never got anything done without having good friends to help. Thanks for reading & stay safe!
