Originally owned by a farmer in Alaska, the truck was used for various jobs and wound up being brutally worked, causing it to be parked in 1984.

Build story

Here’s my 1971 Ford F250 up in Alaska. I’ll share the full story below. \r

In the early spring of 2015, I went to a local junkyard and spent the day looking around. I remember walking up to this truck and being absolutely taken by it. I was a 15 year old who had no mechanical abilities whatsoever. But I was willing to take on the challenge and learn. About a month or so after that day, after a lot of convincing at home, I bought the non-running worn out project truck that had been sitting since 1984 for $800. The day after we towed it home, I was looking it all over and was completely overwhelmed with thoughts of “What have I done?”. I stuck with it and devoted all my time to researching and learning all I could. Going by trial and error, help from friends, lots of time, the truck ran for the first time in 2016. It was driving under its own power shortly after. \r

I can’t possibly list all the countless things I’ve done to this truck. But one thing I can say is that this 4 year long project has given me all the experience and abilities I have today. It has taught me frustration, patience, to dive in and work on it even if you know nothing about it. It has gained me some great friendships. A lot of people doubted me and said I would never be able to do it, even my own family members. And although the truck doesn’t look much different on the outside, it has sure come a LONG way. I now daily drive it, and enjoy making constant improvements to the truck, while keeping the originality of it. \r

Thank you!
