4.3 chevy v6 with edelbrock rollin thunder cam, 4 barrel edelbrock 500 cfm carb.

Build story

My buddy had this rarity (1600 or so built with formula trim package) sitting is his yard for years, it is an original Tucson, AZ car with 96k on the odo. He tried to sell it on Craigslist several times so I offered him $900.00 for it and we towed it to my place. It had some sketchy body work done on the passenger front. It was missing the engine and transmission. It is an extreme budget build with rebuilt junkyard 4,3 v6. I had a BOP th350 transmission from another rig just begging to go back into something. I had a local machine shop go through the engine for about $1600.00 -200hp-250lbs. of torque. I wanted to use it as a fun cruiser/ daily. I had to get super creative so I could keep the power steering. You cannot live without AC in this area so I spent about $450.00 for a kit that I put together with cheap ebay components. The alternator is a tiny forklift unit (race alternator for SBC on ebay). I had to get very creative to mount AC, Alternator, and PWR steering pump. Modified AC mounts from ICT billet, made alternator mount and modify allstar performance Cylinder head mount bracket with a jeep XJ pump, reservoir and high pressure line. I also had to fabricate the engine brackets and the under-dash heat/ac unit brackets. I have about $3500.00 into it at this point, all hand-built in my backyard.

I am the guy who pulled out of my friends yard and put the 4.3 in it. It had no engine or transmission. It was sitting for a very long time in Tucson. A guy from Phoenix came down and bought it off me. I had a file I gave to him, engine is fresh rebuild with a torque cam.

Thank you for getting back to me. I would like any history I can drum up on it. I purchased the Pontiac Historical Society documentation for it. I don't believe the guy gave me the file. I had a 1971 Vega with a 4.3. Missed it terribly, so I bought this one. I got a decent amount for the 4.3 and realized it was a fresh, decent build. It's been all mocked up for a 327 and 4L60e. Mild build. I dont want to twist it. Just finishing up the engine and prepping the engine compartment for a fresh coat of paint. I did massage the right front damaged area a bit more. Its just a nice, little car. It's gonna be my daily driver. Hope you don't mind staying in touch about the car.
