ALH TDI swap from a 2002 Jetta, with .280 injectors, a mechanical pump from a Land Rover 200tdi, and a gt2052 turbo from a Perkins. Ax-15/np242 from a Cherokee, Ford 8.8 with 3.73 gears and a Lincoln locker, front dana 30 regeared to match. Home made bumpers and 5k winch, and custom roof basket bent on my engine stand (fuckin mint). Disgusting aftermarket gauges and a phenomenal eagle shift ball really round it out. The interior is completely custom now, with a 1978 ford plaid made by Krecik Customs in Tacoma, WA.
Build story
Bought the car to run the og gambler 500 last year. Built the bumpers and roof rack, added the winch and swapped the transmission. Drove the car down from Washington, did the gambler and made it all the way home with no issues, and the car was phenomenal. So the obvious move was to ditch the leaky 258 for a TDI from a wrecked jetta. Ditched the electronics for simplicity/tuneability, added bigger injectors and a bigger turbo. The ugly ass gauges were a lucky find, and really upped the ante on the terrible. Regeared with an axle swap out back and some new 3.73s for the dana 30 to help turn the new 265/70/16s. The paint (and not very impressive body work) was done by myself and my buddy. The interior was recently finished (except the center console and shifter boot that are coming) by Kreycik Customs in Tacoma, WA. It#039;s wonderfully awful. Smeagle has officially become my wife#039;s daily driver.
